Maternal Birth Kit Initiative

What is in a kit?

• 1 oz. or larger bar of soap
• Hand sanitizer packet
• Alcohol wipe
• 1 pair of latex gloves
• 36” x 48” of 4 mil. plastic sheeting
• 3 12” pieces of string
• 1 gallon sealing plastic bag
• 1 handmade bag
• 1 36” x 36” square receiving blanket
• 1 small stuffed animal

What do this kits help with?

• promotion of clean delivery practices;
• reduction of maternal sepsis;
• reduction of neonatal tetanus, sepsis, and cord infection;
• reinforcement of maternal and newborn health programs; and
• provision of a convenient source of clean supplies.

I’m local to Erie.  Can I drop donations somewhere?

     Yes!!  You can drop them off at McLane Church in Edinboro!

What if you have leftover shipping money?

     So glad you asked!  We are working to re-sponsor a child in Haiti.  You can learn about Benitha here.  Any extra money leftover from shipping costs will be applied directly to sponsoring her again in November.  We thought this would be a wonderful way to tie the two initiatives together!

When does the initiative end?
